The time has finally arrived, we are starting to see some COVID restrictions being lifted in various settings. Please read below to see a summary of all changes that will be taking place at Goertzen Massage Therapy, effective today.
2022 schedule is now open for online booking!
GMT’s 2022 calendar is now open for online booking. As usual, Alana has opened up the entire 2022 calendar year.
Starting in September, the COVID pre-screening forms that are sent out will (yet again) look a little different.
As per our regulatory college, our mandatory screening questions are based off of the Ontario Ministry of Health Patient Screening Document, which was updated again on August 26, 2021.
I am excited to announce that GMT will be moving locations on August 1!
The new space is located at 350 Ontario Street, Unit 9. We will be located inside a brand new clinic, Speciale Beauty & Wellness Clinic.
As many of you know, I have not been accepting new patients for the last couple of years. Well... that is about to change!
I will be accepting new patients again for appointments starting in May.
I will remaining open throughout the latest lockdown. As I'm sure many of you are already aware, this afternoon Premier Doug Ford declared a State of Emergency and further lockdown restrictions. In Ontario, Registered Massage Therapists...
Online booking is finally up and running! Thank you for your patience as I worked my way through figuring out what my “post-COVID” schedule would look like. It took 2 months to get here, but my schedule has finally returned to regular, full-time hours.
It has been just over a month since I returned to work and as I expand my hours I am ready to open up my availability to everyone (no longer strictly urgent/acute treatments).
Hi everyone!
I finally have some good news! As you may already know, RMTs are able to gradually restart massage therapy services.
I plan to return to practice on Tuesday, June 23. This will not be back to business as usual, and may mean that most of you will need to wait a little while longer before receiving treatment.
Last week, the Ontario Government and the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health provided a new directive for Regulated Health Professionals that allows for a gradual restart of services to be carried out with adherence to guidance from each health profession’s regulatory college. Read more...
It’s been 6 weeks since I had to temporarily close the doors to my practice and stop working to help stop the spread of COVID19. Unfortunately, I have no more of an idea about when I will resume my practice since my previous email. Read more...
As many of you may have already guessed, my hope of returning to the clinic on April 7 will not be possible. Ontario has extended the timeline for being in a state of emergency, non-essential businesses are still closed, and our regulatory body (the CMTO) has told us that we are not allowed to be practicing during this time. Hello everyone,
First, I would like to thank you for your continued support during these rapidly changing and challenging times. As a healthcare provider, I believe my responsibility is in “flattening the curve” and doing whatever I can to minimize the chance of spread. Read more...
I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. What a year 2019 has been, and it’s all thanks to you!
You’ve trusted me with your health over the course of 970 appointments, you’ve spent 859 hands-on hours with me, and you voted for me in not 1, but 2 Readers’ Choice Awards!!
You stuck it out through the construction and saw the growth of the office into the new treatment space (it’s hard to believe that was only in January, it feels like we’ve been in the new space forever!)
And most important, the support and words of encouragement from you when I started teaching gave me the courage to challenge myself with something new that I ended up really enjoying (more than I ever imagined I would.)
I will be switching systems that I use for scheduling, invoicing, and record keeping in 2020. I will also be going paperless (or rather, mostly paperless).
What does this mean for you?
Intake Forms: Everyone will need to complete new intake paperwork (health history, contact info, etc). You should receive an email before your first appointment of 2020 with a link to complete the required forms. If you don't complete this ahead of time, or if you have any questions, please arrive about 10 minutes early to your first appointment of the year to complete it at the office.
You may wonder, "Why do I need to do this if you already have this information?" Well, the reason is that I will be switching to online charting instead of paper charting which means all information needs to be current and up-to-date in your online file.
**It is required by law that I update your health history every year, regardless, so it's a good opportunity to ensure everything is up-to-date with your health and contact information.**
Appointment reminders/confirmations: Currently, all appointment reminders are sent from a program called ClinicSense. Going forward, you will receive appointment reminders and booking confirmations from a program called SoapVault. Please be aware that they will look a little different and will be coming from a different email address/phone number. Be sure to keep an eye on your junk mail and, if necessary, add the address to your contacts to be sure you receive all future communication.
Online booking: Online booking will still be available but the process will look different. As soon as everything is up and running I will post a new tutorial video on facebook and instagram. (If you don't already, please be sure to 'like' the facebook page, important updates and communications are posted here, as well as any last minute cancellations.) Please be patient as the online booking may not be available for the first few days in January.
Phew, that's it. I know that is a lot of information. Thank you so much for taking the time to read through everything and be patient with me as I make the transition to the new program. Please reach out if you have any questions.
I can't wait to spend 2020 with all of you!
GMT is temporarily closed while Alana is on maternity leave.
