Massage therapy is the assessment and manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage Therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use, injury, and many chronic pain conditions.

Specifically focused on the needs of mothers-to-be and new moms. Relieve pain and stress.
Special pillows are used for increased comfort in various positions.

A cesarean birth is a major abdominal surgery.
Learn how to optimize your healing and decrease your pain through hands-on treatment, a rehab plan with assigned self-care techniques, and microcurrent point stimulation (MPS) therapy.

Infant Massage
Promotes relaxation & encourages sleep. It can be used to reduce teething, colic & gas discomfort; regulate breathing/heart rate, and aid in developing digestive/immune systems.
During the appointment, the massage therapist will provide a hands on treatment to the baby, as well as, encourage a parent's confidence in providing their baby with a massage at home by teaching them specific massage techniques.
Pediatric Massage
Provides a sense of relaxation, encourages confidence, promotes body awareness, helps prevent and treat injuries, and instills importance of healthy lifestyle.
As with any treatment, children can undress to their level of comfort or remain fully clothed. They may choose to wear comfortable clothing (ex. shorts/tshirt) while being introduced to massage therapy.

In conjunction with your massage treatment, Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) Scar Release Therapy is used to help soften and release scar tissue, improve mobility, reduce discomfort and optimize healing. This gentle, non-invasive therapy uses low-frequency electrical stimulation to break down adhesions, restore circulation, and enhance the body’s natural healing process.
MPS Therapy will be used in addition to manual scar release techniques. Whether from caesarean birth, surgery, injury, or past trauma, MPS & manual therapies can help you move freely and feel better. MPS scar release release treatments fall in the scope of massage therapy and will be billed as such.

Alana is currently welcoming new patients for prenatal massage, postpartum recovery massage, and MPS scar release treatments only.
Alana is not currently accepting new patients for general massage therapy.
