Goertzen Massage Therapy: COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

You will be emailed a COVID screening form about a week or so prior to your appointment. Please complete this as soon as you receive it. 


It is a HUGE help to me if you complete this immediately. In the event of a failed screening, we will need to reschedule your treatment to a later date. This gives me enough time to offer the available appointment to others that may be in need.


COVID pre-screening must be completed prior to every massage treatment. If it is not completed at a minimum of 24 hours prior to the appointment, you will be contacted to reschedule the appointment for a later date. No exceptions.


Please cancel your appointment and stay home if you have COVID-19 symptoms or are feeling unwell.

Please be on time. If you are early, do not enter the clinic. Please wait in your car until your scheduled appointment start time, at which time you may come into the clinic and, ideally, straight into the massage room. This is to eliminate the use of the waiting room and decrease congestion in the clinic’s common areas.


It is recommended that you use your own washroom at home prior to the appointment (although, washrooms are still available for use if required) and leave all personal belongings in your car (coat, bags, water bottles, etc). Only bring into the clinic what is necessary.


Please come into the clinic alone, without family members or children (exception: if you need assistive help or are accompanying a minor).


Upon arrival to the clinic, it is mandatory that you wear a mask for the entire duration of time in the clinic, including treatment (please bring your own mask to treatment with you. If you do not bring one, one will be provided for you).


You must also wash your hands or use hand sanitizer upon entering.

I will be enforcing a very strict start and stop time policy. This allows adequate time for cleaning and sanitizing before the next appointment and minimizes patient cross-over and congestion in the waiting area. If you are late for your appointment, the treatment will still end at the scheduled time and the full treatment fee will be charged.

The treatment room will look a little different. To adhere to all guidelines and regulations, anything unnecessary has been removed. I will also be using an extra sheet instead of a blanket on top. Blankets will be available upon request and will be laundered after every use. 


I have a fitted vinyl cover on top of my table warmer which allows for proper cleaning and sanitizing between every appointment, and have replaced my thermophore with a vinyl heating pad for the same reason.

Before the treatment can begin, I will be verbally conducting another COVID-19 screening questionnaire to clear you for treatment. If you are not cleared for treatment, your appointment will be cancelled and you will be instructed to self-isolate, complete the online self-assessment tool and call your primary care provider or Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000.

All receipts will now be emailed. You will be required to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before leaving the clinic.
